Scribble #17 - The Appointment

Before I went home, I went into an appointment with Dr. Mahmood bin Abu Yusoof. I am not having an appointment because I'm sick. It's because I want to know more about medicine course. That's right. I want to be a doctor!

First of all, let me introduce him. He is Dr. Mahmood Abu Yusoof, one of the administrators in Medicine in University College of Shahputra. I believe that he is an expert in orthopaedics. He called himself as "Uncle" but I still call him as a "Sir". Why? Because he excels in medic like a sir!

He once told me - long way before the appointment - about his studies in UK. He came up with a tough topic for a thesis (I can't remember very much) and went to his lecturer.

"You can't do this! Every Englishmen did not succeed doing this topic!" his lecturer said. But, he still went on with the topic. He thinks that his lecturer belittled him. "I took that as a challenge!" So, he went on with the topic. And Alhamdullilah, he succeeded.

So, back to the appointment. It was a long appointment with him. But, I going to summarise with a sentence: "Never let your inferiority complex control your mind." What is the relationship between inferoirity complex with medicine course? Think for yourself!

Scribble #14 - Above the water!

Finally, I accomplished one of my life goals; standing above the water and moving! I was going to say I boarded a boat, but it's not. It was kind of a platform (a steel platform with empty barrels under) that brought me to an isle, or I should say an isle's isle.

It was among the happiest moments of my life, and I will never forget how I act like Alfonso De Albuquerque on Flor De La Mar on the tiny platform.

Scribble #13 - PLKN

TAKZIAH?!

Scribble #12 - Final Hours

Don't lie to yourself that SPM is just a month to go. Deduct the time to sleep, eat, rest, lying around the house doing nothing, it is considered only days to go. Divide it with the subjects to study and revise it is merely HOURS left. But still, I am writing this post in the middle of Physics class. Hee~ But, I promised to myself that I will post another scribble after SPM - as soon as I get Internet connection.

So,don't waste your time. Use these FINAL HOURS wisely.

P.S. : There is a fact about SPM that everybody do not know. Do you know that the British men saw it coming? Here's the proof:

Remember, remember the 5th of November...

How on earth did they know about SPM with the date?

But, when I think back, boredom does follow this law. Before you know it, it kills you. So, do something beneficial to counterkill boredom. And remember this...

B-Boredom
O-Obviously
R-Rapidly
E-Extremely
D-Dooms
O-Our
M-Mind

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Scribble #9 - Eidul Fitr 1433

Eid ul-Fitr (عيد الفطر) literally means "festive of breaking fast." As a Muslim, we should be happy celebrating it. Happy after fighting those desires. Happy after successfully defeated them for those who do. Not filling it  with melancholic atmosphere. Not filling it with sorrow.

It is good to shed tears when having the 'touchy-feely' session. It shows that we are really regretting on wrongdoings that we have done to them. But, it doesn't mean that we have to be sad all day long.

I would like to say the trend that happens in Malays in Malaysia. When we watch Malay dramas on Eid ul-Fitr, it really intended to 'sentap' the hearts of those who watch it. I would like to express it again; Eid ul-Fitr is NOT about sadness and sorrow. It's about celebrating the triumph of Ramadan.

If you really know and go really deep into the meaning of 'takbir Raya', you will feel proud and happy instead of crying your lungs out.

In short, just enjoy yourself tomorrow. You can be sad, but not until ruining the real meaning of Eid ul-Fitr.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1433H/2012M
Maaf Zahir dan Batin

P.S.: Renung-renungkanlah pesanan Nabi SAAW yang lebih mengutamakan Aidiladha dari Aidilfitri...

Scribble #8 - Fasting

Bulan mulia menjelang tiba,
Tamatkan sengketa bermaafan kita;
Berpuasalah kita menurut adabnya,
Tidaklah hanya berlapar dahaga.
Dari mana hendak ke mana,
Tinggilah rumput si dari padi;
Bersyukur kita pada Yang Kuasa,
Ditemukan puasa sekali lagi.
Anak gelama dalam lautan,
Mari dibawa di dalam raga;
Moga berpuasa genap sebulan*,
hikmahnya pula jangan dilupa.
*Kecuali yang uzur syar'ie

Scribble #7 - Apollo über alles!

Selamanya, selamanya,
Selamanya Apollo juara...

Yeah, I know it sounds like the Ultra Malaya's cheer (doesn't matter, just cheer!). But Apollo is truly a champion for the 36th Kejohanan Olahraga SEMSAS! With 23 gold medals, (don't even dream the medals are made of gold...electroplating pun tak) other houses - Cosmos, Skylab and Soyuz don't stand a chance against them!

Talking about Apollo, I have a fact that I would like to inform you all. Tahukah anda? Chewah... Did you know that my mother, my brother and I are Apollonians? (Oh, lupa nak beritahu, we are from the same high school - '84, '08, and '12) And don't even think that we could get into the same house with 'kabel'! Anyway, I was really ashamed to inform  you all that I DID NOT contribute either medals or marks for the competition. I was only the DJ who played The Final Countdown during tug-of-war between Cosmos and Skylab. (Sorry Apollonians, try nexy year!) "Tak apa, asalkan aku dapat 'control' siaraya hari ini. Sebelum  ni, mana ada orang pasang lagu-lagu masa acara."

So, I hope that Apollo will continue leading others to pursue towards ABSOLUTE excellence. Amin...

...Lelelelelelela Oooo Oooo
Lelelelelelela Aaaa Aaaa
Lelelelelelela Oooo Oooo
Lelelelelelelaa Apollo juara...
Apollo juara...

*"Bro, über alles tu apa?" Tanyalah Encik Gugel atau Puan Yahu!

Scribble #6 - Catchphrases

What is a catchphrase? It's kind of a trademark...Like Arnold "Susah-Nak-Eja", his catchphrase can be seen in the movie Terminator, "I'm back!" Horatio's catchphrases are a little bit different. He always have different catchphrases. But how to know he said it? Yes, you got it right - those sunglasses!

You see, my friends at school have lots of catchphrases. Some are dialects, some are just words - the difference is that the way of saying it - like my Indian friend, Eric Anthony. He always ask in a loud voice. But I like Nizam Idris' catchphrases. The way of him calling his friends or saying things is very unique until everyone are using it? Want to know them? Ask Nizam! Hahaha...

Before ending my scribbles, here's one of my favourite comic strip about Horatio. Enjoy!

YEEAAAAHHHHH!!!

Scribble #5 - Awesome LP is awesome

At first, I don't give a damn about Linkin Park, until I heard one of their hits, Waiting For The End. The music - the combination of rap and rock; few would achieve this - made me having eargasm. The video clip is also awesome, too. Since that, once again I don't give a damn about LP.

Then, one day, I was so boring, I just literally rolling on the floor. I post it on Facebook about my boredom - to express my boredom, I will annoy my friends on FB - one of the annoyed friends asked me to open this video clip; Burn It Down. I enjoyed the energetic video clip, but I did not pay attention to the song.

Until one day, my friend (Fakhrul Fikri) let me use his MP (Cikgu Karim tak rampas MP tu, so it's MP3 la...). I was scrolling through the songs until I found this particular song. "Macam pernah dengar lagu ni..." I said. When I look at the title, it's Burn It Down by Linkin Park!

Once again, the vocalist Chester Bennigton, the rapper Mike Shinoda and others (can't remember them all...) made me having eargasm! Until then, I always use Fakhrul's "MP3" to hear this song and So Far Away. But, after he deleted So Far Away from his "MP3", (he said to me, "Aku nak buanglah lagu ni...kau obses sangat dengan lagu ni...") I always hear this song, while imitating John Hahn playing the dubstep (it is a dubstep? Maaflah, aku ni kuno sikit).

We're building it up
To break it back down
We're building it up
To burn it down
We can't wait
To burn it to the ground

-Chester Bennington, Linkin Park

Scribble #4 - Holiday close to home

Now I'm at Balok Beach (reminds me of  Shazrul Azami...hehe) for joining my father's team building program. And it's just a few kilometres away from the second home, Aman 10. I remembered in 2007, the same thing occurred to my brother. He was sleeping all day because he's not in the mood. Haha!

Anyway, this week has been a 'holiday' week. From Tuesday until Friday, I've been staying at the Bukit Gambang Resort City for PiSSA seminars. It's full with OSEMness! The Physics session, the funfair - I puked after two trips on the "washing machine" - and of course, the awesomeness of meeting my old friends! They are from the same primary school. After a long hiatus, we met there. "Kau tak kata pun kau budak PiSSA?" Hafiz said to me. I just shrugged, and said, "Kau pun sama juga, tak cakap pun kat aku. Mula lah terkejut beruk jumpa aku kat sini."

After that, from Saturday until tomorrow, I will be staying here. Although it is close to the hostel, still "cuti is cuti!!! (A quote from someone...Form 5 SEMSAS will understand...hehe...) We have to enjoy to the fullest or you will be down throughout the day, whenever or wherever you are.

Scribble #3 - Awesome Hugh Laurie is awesome

He's the man who have all what it takes to be a pure artist - actor, voice artist, comedian, writer, musician, recording artist, and director. You must not know that Hugh Laurie can write musical composes, lyrics and sing them! His songs never made it to any charts, but his beautiful inventions have a special place at my mind. Why? They are so hilarious! You may not understand when hearing them once, but when you look at the lyrics, they are awesome! I give you a sample song here:

And here is the lyric:

The Sophisticated Song - Hugh Laurie

I wear sophisticated clothes
I say sophisticated things
Everything about me says
I'm a sophistication king

But when I'm with you
Can't seem to find my cool
Yeah, when I'm with you
I just site there and drool

I got sophisticated hands
I got sophisticated feet
A sophisticated car
Parked on sophistication street

But when I'm with you
Can't seem to find my cool
Yeah, when I'm with you
I'm just a dribbling fool

When you look at me and you start to flirt
I have to wipe the dribble off the front of my shirt

When you ask me what's on my mind
All I can think to answer is... "fluh-uh"

I eat sophisticated food
I breathe sophisticated air
I run a sophisticated comb
Through my sophisticated hair

But when I'm with you
Can't seem to find my cool
Yeah, when I'm with you
I'm just a dribbling... fool

So that's it! Upon hearing this song, I quickly fell in love with his comedy series.

*Talking about a pure artist, do you think there will be another P. Ramlee in this country?

Scribble #2 - Automated Songs

I could see my friends' blogs have songs in it and somehow I was distracted by it while reading their writings. And when I open it, the song would tear the house apart. Those energetic intros are inappropriate in the middle of the night when you sneak out surfing the Internet in the middle of the night. At least make it not playing itself or everyone would die young bearing pains of heavy drum lines.

*Talking about songs, I love instrumental songs, especially when it is Arabic songs...

Scribble #1 - The Beginning

I don't know what brought me here to start blogging. It's a few more months for the D-day; minus the hours of eating, playing, 9gagging, sleeping - and of course, 'qailulah' in afternoon classes - it's only a few more days left for SPM. And I'm still sitting, writing scribbles in this virtual space; it cannot be hold like a paper, cannot be touched like a diary, and it cannot be written here using my real handwriting (Fahim cakap handwriting aku OSEM)!

Maybe I should delete this blog and forget about it once and for all, but still I'm caressing the keyboard - pouring a pot of thoughts here. After all, I'm not going to be a full-time writer. A writer is not even in my list for future careers. But suddenly, I realized one thing - I have the ability to come up with a decent writing.

So, I'm here to save my talent of writing and will not let it vanished into thin air. Writing is my passion so, why not?

*Talking about SPM, I still couldn't help myself on Johan's joke about it..."SPM...SPM...SPM...SPRM..."
